Imperial Air force
AH-3 Archangel
_The AH-3 Archangel is a five-blade, twin-engine attack helicopter with
reverse-tricycle landing gear, and tandem cockpit for a crew of two. Its
incorporated stealth features to avoid detection, such as retractable
weapon stations and main gun, and stealth faceting and radar absorbent
materials. The AH-3 Archangel's noise signature is noticeably smaller
than others in its class being 10 times quieter than an AH-64 Apache.
The helicopter is armed with a 30 mm automatic M230 Electric Cannon
firing depleted uranium armor piercing rounds that can be slaved to the
gunner's Helmet mounted display, fixed to a locked forward firing
position, or controlled via the Target Acquisition and Designation
System (TADS). The Archangel carries a range of external stores on its
retractable weapon stations, typically a mixture of Aries ATGM, Cobra 7
general-purpose unguided 70 mm rockets, and Puma laser guided SAMs, Puma
2 fire and forget , IR homing SAMs for countermeasures defense.
C-7 Titan
_The C-7 Titan is an advanced VSTOL large military transport aircraft
that is capable of being configured as an aerial refueling platform. A
version of the aircraft designated E-7 Cats Eye serves as the AWACs
platform for the Holy Empire. The aircraft features the extensive usage
of carbon fibre and is equipped with 4 Rushing Aircraft J100 engines and
two Ventner Ducted fan engines. The Rushing engines can direct their
trust downward and with the two ducted fans can lift the aircraft
vertically.
F-320 Wasp
_The Wasp is a multi-role fighter, meaning it can attack targets in and
out of atmosphere. Because of its small size it is normally used as an
intercepter. In atmosphere the Wasp is fast and agile, letting it
quickly engage targets and move away before being engaged. The F-320 can
attack both air and ground targets but is mainly tasked with fighter to
fighter engagement.
HF-2000 Scarab
_The Scarab is Magnum Ultra's Heavy Fighter. It's real designation is as an
Airspace Control Craft meaning it excels at holding a zone against an
incoming enemy. It has many ways of engaging enemys including heavy
caliber cannons, anti-ship and fighter missiles, mines and even an EW
system mounted in the nose of the fighter. Because of all these things
the Scarab takes 5 people to opperate it including 2 pilots, a weapons
contoller and 2 EW operaters (one of them also acts as a second weapons
controller.) It was originally used by the Navy but has since been moved
to the army. They now operate out of land based hangers and orbiting
defense stations to repel landing ships and other inbound enemy craft.
_F/B-129 Hornet
_The Hornet is a fighter bomber used by the Army. Even though it's an
older design it still excels at its job of providing devastating
firepower. The hornet uses missiles, housed missile racks in the front,
and smart bombs, housed in an under belly bay. When engaged in space ops
these bombs are normally replaced with anti-ship mines.
_C-46 "Big Bird"
_The C-46 "Big Bird" is Magnum Ultra's standard dropship. It's able to
operate in Atmosphere and in vacuum. It can ferry a large group of troops to
the surface or 2 light vehicles. In space its very manuverable but in
atmosphere it is slow and normally needs an escort. It does pack weapons
though, in the form of 3 20mm point defence turrets, though its light
armor makes it a poor choice for a front line dropship. Because of this
"Big Birds" are normally reserved for moving troops from base to base or
land reinforcements on a secure beach head.
_
SC-90 "Monster"
_The SC-90, SC standing for Super Cargo, is a very large dropship used to
move huge amounts of troops or large vehicles. It can travel in
atmosphere and in vacumm though it's a slow moving target in atmo.
It has no defenses, so its usually escorted by smaller aircraft.
It has no defenses, so its usually escorted by smaller aircraft.
_AC-69 "Black Jack" Light Gunship
_The "Black Jack" is an older dropship converted into an attack craft.
Because of this the AC-69 still has the ability to transport troops.
This, its ability to enter atmospheres, and its armament of missile pods
and turrets makes it valuable in securing landing zones for larger
craft. The Black Jacks
original role was to be a rapid responce craft that could be dropped
through the atmosphere along with Speciel Forces drop pods, to provide
gun support for the squads, so it can't fly in vacumm.
